Have you ever heard the saying “Don’t cut off your nose to spite your face”? Do people think before they say this stuff? Who the hell cuts their nose off in the first place? Most people can’t relate to this scenario. Plus, if someone’s going to cut their own damn nose off then I doubt they’re going to listen to your nonsense warning about spiting their face. Usually they’ll just do it then probably start running after you with the knife next. Don’t even bother talking to these people, just run. Then there’s the second part of this saying to contend with. Who spites their face? Why would you ever have a vendetta against your own face? Even if you did somehow despise your own face and be in some sort of bizarre feud with it, cutting your nose off would be a huge win for you. Presuming you got to a hospital fast enough and they could stop the blood loss, that would be You: 1 - Face: 0. Your face would be devastated! If you were trying to get back at your face for giving you mean looks all the time in the mirror then you succeeded by cutting your nose off so you SHOULD cut your nose off to spite your face. The real saying should be “Don’t spite your face.” But of course most people don’t need to be told that.
