Why is it you never see any homeless little people aka dwarfs? I just never see them anywhere and believe me, I’ve been looking! What’s the deal with that? Where are they?! -- Nisha from Washington D.C.
Dear Nisha:
I haven’t seen any either so it’s not just you. There are a few explanations for this. First off they are physically smaller so if they’re hiding under a newspaper or in a crevasse you won’t be able to spot them as easily as you would a fully grown homeless person. However, the more likely explanation is that if you’re a little person or “Person under 5’3” which is the new politically correct term, and you’ve fallen on hard times there’s really no reason for you to ever be homeless. If you’re a little person with no place to live and no money you can easily join a traveling Romanian circus. It’s certainly no treat and it’s probably very insulting to be a member of a human oddity showcase, but it’s gotta be better than being homeless. And that’s why you never see little homeless people.
