The motel company “Motel 6” is famous for the slogan “We’ll leave the light on for you” and it’s probably one of the worst slogans ever. Leaving lights on is very environmentally irresponsible. When you think about how many millions of people have stayed at a Motel 6 since its inception in 1962 and how many lights were left on for people that’s a very scary thought. One day we may come to learn that climate change was caused by Motel 6 alone. You’d think they would have abandoned this harmful slogan a long time ago, but as of 2012 they’ve been using the slogan “50 years, and the light’s still on!” Now maybe they don’t believe global warming is man made, but just from an electrical bill standpoint leaving the lights on all the time sounds like a really bad idea. Anyway you slice it, this is just a really bad slogan. It’s the energy equivalent of saying “Smoke up, kids!” before people knew tobacco was deadly. We were wise enough to stop selling cigarettes to children, but we’re not wise enough to discourage the concept of redundantly wasting electricity?
Motel 6 is the most fuelish business there is! Do you want to beat the Japs or not?! |
