The Most Commonly Misheard Song Lyric Of All-Time

If you're gonna sing it,
get the words right.

“Circle of Life” from the Disney film “The Lion King” has to be the number one song people get the lyrics wrong to all the time. Most people think that the beginning part goes “NAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH SIGPWAYYYYYMAAAAAAAAAAAGHHHH BAAABAAAAAA HEEEEEEEE SEEEEEEEEEEE MAAAAAAAAAWWWWW MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!” but it’s actually “Nants ingonyama bagithi Baba” which translated means “Here comes a lion, father”. If you’re going to sing the song, get the damn words right and stop making an ass out of yourself! 

I realize it sounds a little like “Naaaaaaaa sigggggghaaaaaaaamaaaaaaaaaaa babamaaaaa heeeeeeeeeeee jeeeeeeeeee saaaaabaaaaaaaahhhh” that’s what I thought it was at first too until I read the liner notes. When I realized I had been singing it wrong for years I felt like a damn fool. Hopefully you educate yourself so you don’t end up looking dumb like I did all those times at weddings and birthday parties. I basically sang that shit every chance I could. I love this song, it’s a classic. I would sing it more often with the correct lyrics, but I don’t get many chances anymore. I kinda stopped getting invited to parties.
