Need I say more?

When people say “Need I say more?” they sound like they just got hit over the head with a hammer. When they say “Need I say more?” they mean to say is “Do I need to say more?” So the answer to their question is “Yes. The words ‘do’ and ‘to’.” And also move the ‘I’ over. You can’t just take words out of sentences like that. Words are in sentences because they mean things. Certain small words like ‘do’ and ‘to’ might seem unnecessary, but they serve to make us NOT sound like Scandinavian tourists. Understand I say? See how dumb when words taken out? Sound stupid I? Brain damaged Yoda maybe? Well there’s an easy way to correct that, just speak normally.
